Nothing posh....

Image
Hi guys, Hope this post finds you in good health, wealth and happiness. If not, well we should keep trying, shouldn't we? Well, I'm officially a job holder now, so I'm officially done with my unemployment rants. But employment is not at all pretty as it is made out to be. Fatigue welcomes you every evening after office and you wish you were unemployed again. What an irony! So, after a week of joining office, me and my sister and our friends went for a mini weekend getaway. Well, basically my sister took me with them out of pity for my work loaded mind. We went to Chitlang, Makwanpur, which is just outside of Kathmandu. Only 3 hours bike ride from Pharping! The scenic beauty of Chitlang stole our hearts. Since I directly went from the office on Friday evening I wore whatever I had decided to wear that morning (luckily nice, to become a post). So, if you find the outfit a little boring, forgive me. I chose a simple black tank, and a green outer to cover it (since...

Extremely Hot.....

Image
Hey people! Kathmandu has been hot as hell these days, isn't it? You don't need to shower twice, because mother nature will do that for you, in your own sweat that is. You step outside and you feel like you've stepped onto a fire. So, how to dress for that? How indeed? So, I decided to wear something casual and light clothing for everyday wear. This tribal print tank top is so soft and light that you barely feel you're wearing it. And these gray capri pants also don't sweat you out like normal jeans do. Problem solved. You might think why sneakers for summer. I say why not, especially when you have to walk for a long time. This cool blue rucksack is also just the thing you need for all your essentials. How do you like it? Be back soon <3 Only indoor photo here, cause the wall painting is so cool. Splendiferous Darjeeling..

Image
Hey people, how's life treating you? It's been giving me pretty good things, like this sudden, unplanned trip to Darjeeling. My angel brother (cousin) asked me to go with him to his hometown to get myself refreshed from all these idle days I have been spending. So, I jumped at the opportunity and packed my bags and off we went. And the place is more beautiful than anything I've ever seen. As soon as you cross Ilam towards the border place Pashupatinagar, you are greeted with thick fogs, which is kinda like the trademark of this place. Darjeeling once fell within the territory of Nepal, so you can easily see that it pretty much looks like the sister of Nepal's magnificent hill cities. Almost 90% of the people residing here are Nepalese, speak Nepali, do everything Nepali and are the hugest fans of Nepali movies. I fell in love with this place and have vowed to visit it next year.  The specialty of this place are its lush greenery, hills, tea estates and of cours...

Sisters Before Misters!

Image
Hi y'all! How's your summer going? Since I'm on a permanent vacation, given my current unemployed status, I thought why not enjoy it while it lasts? So, I've been visiting different places right now, making the best of it. I go everywhere with my sister, who is also my best friend, accomplice, blog stylist/adviser, money bank, and my confidante. She definitely comes before all and everyone. So, this weekend, me and my sister ganged up with our friends to visit Bhaktapur Durbar Square. This place is so gorgeous; you feel its beauty as soon as you step inside the gate. There are 3 durbar squares in Kathmandu valley, all equally beautiful, but I think this one’s the best. Beautiful temples, old palaces and a museum surround this quaint little place, which you can’t help but marvel at.  In order to compete with the beauty of this place (haha, not really), I decided to give the good old red dress a twist, by wearing a top on top of it :-D. This shoulder-crop-and-fla...

Summertime Shirtdress!!

Image
I've got that summertime, summertime sadness! I'm sorry Lana Del Rey, but I beg to differ. In my not so humble opinion (haha, got you Dumbledore), summertime is absolutely not for sadness. More sun definitely equals to more fun, right? So, to take advantage of this summer, me and my sister went on a little hike to this beautiful place called Namo Buddha. It is about two hours' drive from the city of Kathmandu, and is absolutely, breathtakingly beautiful (and peaceful). I have never felt more peaceful and at ease with myself. Perfect for a little weekend getaway!!! So, to visit this place, I decided to wear this gorgeous shirt-dress, which was just lying there in my closet forever. To add some shape to the otherwise baggy shirt-dress, I wore a brown belt and a black waistcoat. This way, I felt comfortable as well as stylish. And I stacked up every bangles I own in my left hand :D, and nothing else except a pair of tiny "key" earrings. And to keep the hair ...

Fresh Off The Runway !!

Image
Hey y'all! Hoow hav you beeeen? I recently did this fashion show called "IEC Designer's Runway 3" on March 20, 2016, which happened at Hyatt Regency, Kathmandu. It was  a graduation show organized by IEC College of Art and Fashion every year, where designers under IEC formally graduated and took their first steps in the fashion industry. House of Fashion managed this event, which has always been about promoting local fashion. As a fashion blogger, maybe I shouldn't be posting this. But the show was filled with so much glamour and style flowed freely from every corner of the venue. So, I just wanted to share it with my readers. Read on to know more. This was the very first dress I got to flaunt. It was prepared by Amyma Rai and Pema Sherpa. The theme of their collection was 'Abloom', which meant that all of the gowns and dresses had floral patterns and motifs. And they were also new/ budding designers (about to bloom), hence the name...

Feeling blue (&pink)!

Oh, how time flies by! It seems like only yesterday, we were playing doll at each other's houses. And now she got hitched. Makes me feel kinda old (haha). So, to attend my high school friend's wedding, I wore this embroidered lehenga (blouse+skirt+shawl), which is the equivalent of gowns in Nepal and India. Paired it with the highest heels I own and minimal accessories.  Meet my friends Deepa, Puja (the bride) and me !! Lehenga: Ordered from India Green earrings, Heels: People's Plaza Bracelets(both): Gifts from my sister!!
