Befriend the Chill

Who says you can't wear a shirt-dress in winter? You can! If the layering's right!! I tried doing it too, and it looked like this, Darling, Behold the sight How to create an interesting look Oh, it gave me such a fright, Added a turtleneck, trench coat and boots And I think I looked pretty alright....... Haha, I got tired of writing cover stories for my posts, so I tried writing something else. My feeble attempt at penning a poem is bonkers, but so am I. So, just ignore the words and look at the pictures. And tell me what you think? Bye, love!! Hello from the Autumn Side!

Image
OH NO, Autumn's here, which means harsh winter is just around the corner and I shudder at the thought of it. I did not post anything throughout October because I was preparing for my IELTS test, and man, the test was awesome and I'm secretly praying for an awesome band score.  So, what do you wear during autumn? I can still see girls flaunting their summer dresses in Kathmandu, which is cool. But my body (ahem, oldie alert) and this weather demands a bit more cover-up. So, I grabbed this printed sweatshirt from my closet, which is just the perfect material and style. And drawstring pants for added comfort and warmth. I stole my sister's favorite pair of shoes for this post, she wears them everyday. It's huge though, my feet felt heavy, guess I'm not used to these kind of shoes. But oh well, it looked nice anyway. I'm also wearing a black beanie, but I guess it's invisible here, since my hair is the same color. Planning to become a redhead soon, though

Back to School

Hi guys, How have you all been? I didn't post twice this month and for that I have many excuses. Wanna hear the main one? Well, I had bigger plans for this month's post, but sometimes the mighty life deliberately throws you backwards. You don't have any other option but to accept it and start again, from one step back. Whew! The other reason is my  music video.  Yes, guys, I acted in a music video out of sheer curiosity. You can watch it  here.  Do you think I suck at acting? If yes, let me know, lol. So, as I recently graduated from university, my academic life is on pause for a year or so. But then I remembered the place where I started it all - school. I studied in the same school for almost 7 years and it's uniform was a sky blue shirt, dark blue skirt, blue socks and cute black Mary Janes. I drew inspiration from exactly that for this post. I traded the dark blue skirt for this black mesh skirt (my summer staple) and ditched the socks, since it's s

Red, White and You!

Baby, Baby All I need is red white and You Don't give a damn about the summer time blues All I need is red white and you Says Steven Tyler, not me! This is another one of my collaboration with Anup Adhikari. I had thought of wearing a black blazer for this post, but changed my mind mid-way, because this white shirt is so much cooler and great for summer. It also looked perfect with this beautiful red skirt. I was saving the shirt for a monochrome look post. This skirt holds a really special place in my heart because my sister bought it for me (along with a suitcase of other skirts haha). No, but really! And in summer I wear it with just about anything, it's so comfortable, just slip and go! I decided to pair it with my red heels (another special item in my closet) and awesome red lips as well. I rarely wear heels, feel much comfortable in flats. Unless the occasion demands that I absolutely wear them, these beauties rarely get out of my closet. And that

Yellow yellow, Dirty fellow!

All my love to my lovely readers! Thank you for taking the time to read my blog. It is because of you guys that I get the energy to post new things every month.  And this time, on the lookout for something new, my friend Anup Adhikari and I collaborated. He is a great photographer who has been doing photography since the last 6 years, and has great visions. So when he proposed to shoot for my blog, I was more than happy and agreed at once. And I was really happy with how the pictures turned out. Want to know more about his work? Find him on  Instagram ,  Facebook  and his  website . So, I decided to wear rocky pants (or denim dungarees, you might call them) for this post. Rocky pants have been around for quite some time now, and I have always found them fascinating. My love for them began when a distant cousin bought this for me when I was 7 or 8 years old. I was weirdly attracted to it back then and in my fascination (read little knowledge) stepped out of the house wearing

You can stand under my UMBRELLA

Hello people, In my last post I had promised to be back in a fortnight, but I didn't. Sorry. I was out of Kathmandu valley for 9 days on field work, but I'm back now. I'd shot these pictures before I went, but I forgot to post them. Anyway, here it is now. It's been raining pretty hard these days. After all it's monsoon, what is the weather supposed to do, huh? Monsoon can be pesky, specially after the "enjoying-the-rain" part is over, and dressing up is challenging too. So, I played a little with my clothes this time and turned my regular kurti into a top. I tucked them into my pants actually and it looked pretty nice, so I went ahead with it. And in my opinion, jeans are a complete no-no for monsoon, they get so tight and itchy after they get wet. So, I wore these half cargo pants and some rainproof sandals and I was all ready. I tied my hair into a high ponytail and wore my pendant as a headband. Now the yellow umbrella is the highlight of

Nothing posh....

Hi guys, Hope this post finds you in good health, wealth and happiness. If not, well we should keep trying, shouldn't we? Well, I'm officially a job holder now, so I'm officially done with my unemployment rants. But employment is not at all pretty as it is made out to be. Fatigue welcomes you every evening after office and you wish you were unemployed again. What an irony! So, after a week of joining office, me and my sister and our friends went for a mini weekend getaway. Well, basically my sister took me with them out of pity for my work loaded mind. We went to Chitlang, Makwanpur, which is just outside of Kathmandu. Only 3 hours bike ride from Pharping! The scenic beauty of Chitlang stole our hearts. Since I directly went from the office on Friday evening I wore whatever I had decided to wear that morning (luckily nice, to become a post). So, if you find the outfit a little boring, forgive me. I chose a simple black tank, and a green outer to cover it (since

Extremely Hot.....

Hey people! Kathmandu has been hot as hell these days, isn't it? You don't need to shower twice, because mother nature will do that for you, in your own sweat that is. You step outside and you feel like you've stepped onto a fire. So, how to dress for that? How indeed? So, I decided to wear something casual and light clothing for everyday wear. This tribal print tank top is so soft and light that you barely feel you're wearing it. And these gray capri pants also don't sweat you out like normal jeans do. Problem solved. You might think why sneakers for summer. I say why not, especially when you have to walk for a long time. This cool blue rucksack is also just the thing you need for all your essentials. How do you like it? Be back soon <3 Only indoor photo here, cause the wall painting is so cool. Splendiferous Darjeeling..

Image
Hey people, how's life treating you? It's been giving me pretty good things, like this sudden, unplanned trip to Darjeeling. My angel brother (cousin) asked me to go with him to his hometown to get myself refreshed from all these idle days I have been spending. So, I jumped at the opportunity and packed my bags and off we went. And the place is more beautiful than anything I've ever seen. As soon as you cross Ilam towards the border place Pashupatinagar, you are greeted with thick fogs, which is kinda like the trademark of this place. Darjeeling once fell within the territory of Nepal, so you can easily see that it pretty much looks like the sister of Nepal's magnificent hill cities. Almost 90% of the people residing here are Nepalese, speak Nepali, do everything Nepali and are the hugest fans of Nepali movies. I fell in love with this place and have vowed to visit it next year.  The specialty of this place are its lush greenery, hills, tea estates and of cours
